Magirus turntable ladders are among the most widely used ladders in fire services in Türkiye and around the world. Their mechanical and hydraulic structure lasts long; in older generations, however, the control electronics become the main source of spare part, service time and cost problems. At EHR Elektronik we independently rebuild the control system of Magirus ladders with today’s components.
EHR Elektronik is not an authorised Magirus service partner or dealer. Our service is an independent electronic modernisation; no Magirus logo or original parts are used on the vehicle.
Which Magirus ladders?
We carry out pre-assessments for Magirus and Iveco-Magirus turntable ladders of different height classes, especially the DLK 23-12 class. Feasibility depends on the vehicle’s mechanical and hydraulic condition, not on the model name.
| Vehicle condition | Assessment |
|---|---|
| Display or control board failed, no spare available | Typical starting point for a retrofit |
| Manufacturer service requires a long factory stay | On-site installation can shorten downtime |
| Unexplained cut-outs in limitation or moment functions | Sensors and tables are rebuilt in the new system |
| Heavy damage to turret, ladder sets or hydraulics | Mechanical repair first; electronics planned afterwards |
Typical ageing components
- Turret and cage control boards, operator display and keypads
- Length, elevation and slew angle sensors with their cables and cable reel connections
- Proportional valve drivers and relay logic
- Communication and intercom between cage and turret
Our approach
We remove the old electronics and fit redundant controllers, a colour graphic display, CANopen sensors and new harnesses to the truck, turret and cage. The ladder’s limitation and moment tables are rebuilt from the vehicle’s real dimensions and verified by tests. Hydraulics and mechanics stay as they are.
- Control: MOBA MPC113 and MSC113 redundant controllers
- Operator: GDC800 7″ colour display, cage panel, CANcom intercom
- Measurement: redundant cable length transducer, inclination sensor, wind sensor
- Diagnostics: clear on-screen message and log entry for every fault; diagrams and parameter list at handover
Options: repair, new vehicle, independent renewal
| Option | When does it fit? | Points to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Repair at the manufacturer | Parts are still produced and the factory stay is acceptable | The same electronics generation remains; the problem returns with the next fault |
| New vehicle | Mechanics and hydraulics have reached end of life | High investment and long delivery time |
| Independent electronic renewal | Mechanics and hydraulics are sound, the problem is the electronics | Acceptance tests are repeated; scope is defined in the proposal |

Frequently asked questions
Are you an authorised Magirus service partner?
No. We are an independent electronic modernisation company, not an authorised service partner, dealer or affiliate of Magirus.
Do you use original Magirus parts?
No. Because we rebuild the control system, we do not need original electronic parts. Hydraulic and mechanical parts stay in place.
Does the ladder need re-inspection?
Yes. Since safety functions are rebuilt, acceptance tests are carried out; we record them and prepare the documents for the control system.
How long does it take?
It depends on the vehicle’s condition and the scope. Cabinets and harnesses are pre-built to keep downtime short; the schedule is stated in the proposal.
How is the price determined?
The ladder’s functions, sensors and test scope determine the cost. After the pre-assessment we send a written proposal.
